The registration fee is EUR 120. It is currently possible to pay via PayPal and we plan to add more payment options soon. Registration is valid once the payment has been completed (or earlier in case the athlete provides the IAM with documentation of payment that makes it clear that the money is on the way).
There are 110 athlete places in total.
50 reserved places: 50 places will be reserved for the Top 50 in the IAM World Ranking (as of 12 September) until 1 October.
50 free-for-all places: 50 places are free on a first-come, first-served basis (note the athlete limit per country).
10 places will be filled via wild cards issued by the IAM. Example: A former champion wishes to make a comeback and only decides to enter at a late stage of the registration process, once all other places are already taken.
There is a limit of 20 athletes per country, with the exception of China and Mongolia (25 each). Note: While the top 50 places are reserved (until 1 October), the reserved places also count as part of a country's competitor limit. Example: There are 18 Mongolians in the top 50, so while the 50 top places are reserved (until 1 October), only 7 (= 25 athlete limit for Mongolia minus 18) non-top-50 Mongolians can register. From 1 October onwards, when the 50 reserved places become free, the normal athlete limit applies again for each country on a first-come, first-served basis.
Starting 15 October, the athlete limit will be removed, meaning that there will no longer be a restriction on the number of athletes from a country.
We are currently considering possibilities for making the event digital. A final decision has not been made yet. We will update you as soon as there are any new developments.
